Friends Group Network
Over half of the National Estuarine Research Reserves have a friends group or foundation that provides support on the local level. NERRA has teamed up with these nonprofit organizations to develop a network that will allow NERRA to provide support for these groups and increase the ability of the friends groups to support NERRA and the national system.
The Friends Group Network has enhanced communication among friends groups in order to more effectively inform and mobilize support for the NERRS. The network has allowed friends groups to share information and has provided an ongoing forum for discussion about issues of importance to friends groups and the NERRS. NERRA has helped to coordinate and organize meetings with all of the friends groups in conjunction with the NERRS-NERRA Annual Meetings over the last three years. |
