Coastal Training Program
The U.S. Commission on Ocean Policy recommended strengthening the nation's coastal and ocean literacy. With a coordinated network of educators and training specialists, the NERRS successfully increases awareness about estuaries and coasts.
The Coastal Training Program provides training to professionals who make decisions about coastal resources. This program ensures that professionals--such as planners, local government officials, and resource managers--have the science-based information they need to make informed decisions. This program contributes to healthy coastal communities, responsible planning, and improved water quality and coastal habitats. Community demand for this program continues to grow.
