2009 NERRS/NERRA Annual Meeting
Sunday, November 8, 2009 to Friday, November 13, 2009 Loews Coronado Bay Resort Coronado, California The Human Touch on Natural Systems Many of us perceive the human effect on nature as a big negative and, indeed, nearly all the trauma inflicted on natural systems has been caused by us. But the human touch on nature can also be a positive touch. It’s what we attempt do in the Reserve System through our Stewardship, CTP and Education programs, based on the findings of our Research programs.
The Tijuana River National Estuarine Research Reserve is one of the most urban reserves in the System. Over 1.8 million people live within a 30 minute drive. Conference topics for the 2009 NERRS Annual Meeting will address both the daunting challenges and the happy opportunities inherent in managing sensitive environments within the context of so many people. Though not all Reserves are as urban, all Reserves do share the reality of saving natural systems from the human touch…through the human touch.Visit the meeting website
