National Estuaries Week is just around the corner: September 16th to 23rd. Once again, NERRA is working with the Association of National Estuary Programs, Restore America’s Estuaries and other nonprofit and government organizations to promote the awareness, stewardship, and restoration of our nation’s estuaries. You can explore National Estuaries Week activities on this interactive map, and be sure to add your reserve’s events to this registration page to help spread the word!
NOAA’s Office for Coastal Management will hold the third annual National Estuaries Week photo contest. We hope it inspires NERRS amateur photographers (including you) to capture the natural wonder of estuaries and the ways in which people enjoy these special places. For more information, visit the photo contest page. If you can, please promote this contest on social media, include it in newsletters, or put an article on your website. (You can customize this e-postcard or this e-postcard or make use of this press release).
Last but not least, OCM, NERRA, and the other partners are running a campaign on Facebook and Twitter, featuring fun facts about estuaries, photos, and other content, using the hashtag #EstuariesWeek. Please like, retweet, and share our posts, or run your own campaign using the hashtag.
