Dolores Leonard

Communications Consultant

Dolores is a communications consultant for the National Estuarine Research Reserve Association. She provides guidance for strategies and develops a range of products that promote understanding of NERRS and the benefits that reserves provide. Dolores became a fan of the NERRS is 2004, when she began working with national funding programs focused on developing science-based solutions to problems in coastal environments. She was part of the University of New Hampshire team that designed and launched the inaugural NERRS Science Collaborative in 2009, a science funding and knowledge transfer program that received the inaugural 2014 NERRS Impact award.

Today, Dolores is a founding partner of Roca Communications+, where she provides a full suite of planning, group process, and communications services for NERRA and other clients interested in making positive change along the coasts. She personally specializes in science translation and facilitation and brings more than 20 years of communications experience to support NERRA’s needs. She lives with her family in coastal Maine and enjoys hiking, paddling,cooking, and creative writing. She is never far from her yoga mat.
