The Kachemak Bay National Estuarine Research Reserve in Alaska consists of more than 372,000 acres of diverse coastal ecosystems that provide habitats for a range of species, including Pacific salmon, halibut, herring, whales, porpoises, Stellar sea lions, seals, otters, and crabs. The Reserve is part of NOAA’s Habitat Blueprint, which works to promote marine life, coastal communities, and habitats for fisheries.
