This webinar will provide an introduction, or a refresher, on the process of conducting a land acquisition project and cover some of the key elements involved in a land acquisition transaction. It is is intended as an overview for Reserve teams considering land acquisition or easements as a strategy for protecting marsh migration pathways, and prepare them for Q&A sessions with land conservation practitioners.This webinar is by invitation only. 

Speaker: Elaine Vaudreuil

Elaine Vaudreuil is a Management/Program Analyst and coastal land use planner with the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) Office for Coastal Management. She managed NOAA’s Coastal and Estuarine Land Conservation Program in partnership with state coastal management programs and reserves from 2002-2018 and helped manage NOAA’s growing National Coastal Resilience Fund partnership with the National Fish and Wildlife Foundation from 2019-2023. Since 2021, she leads the Stewardship program for the National Estuarine Research Reserve System and also provides expertise to support land conservation through the Bipartisan Infrastructure Law.
